You can relax in the outdoor pool, which is heated all year round, or, in summer, in the infinity pool, which boasts fantastic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Active recreation is provided by an extensive activity program offering yoga, meditation, water gymnastics and guided hikes, even in winter.

Reduced drink prices at our self-service bar offers additional comfort. You can enjoy all these services from around € 100 per night in a standard room for an unforgettable holiday in the mountains.

The Sonklarhof is in a sunny spot surrounded by pristine nature, right in the heart of Ridnaun, next to the church.

Sterzing is about 12 kilometers away and can be reached by car in around 20 minutes.

Ridnaun is an ideal destination for active holidays, whether you're looking for summer or winter activities. In winter, there is a 25 km cross-country ski trail. Ridnaun is also the perfect place to start day trips throughout South Tyrol. The Active Card, which is included in the local tax, allows you to use all public transport in South Tyrol free of charge.

You can cancel your stay free of charge up to three months before arrival. After this point, the following cancellation fees apply:

• 3 months to 1 month before arrival: 40% of the total price
• 1 month to 2 days before arrival: 80% of the total price
• From 2 days before arrival or in case of a no-show: 100% of the total price.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or accident, unfortunately, we are unable to make any exceptions to the above cancellation conditions. The agreed cancellation fees will be charged if the cancelled room cannot be re-let.

Please note that for stays during the Christmas and New Year period, the deadline for free cancellation is brought forward to 31 July of the respective year.

There are rooms and suites with and without balconies. The balconies are located around the building – with a view of the pool on the south side or a mountain panorama on the north side.

Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the hotel, gardens and outdoor areas.

One bathrobe per person is included in the room price and available at reception. A wellness bag containing bath towels is provided in the room. Disposable slippers are available to purchase for € 2 per pair, or you are welcome to bring your own. Please note that we only provide bathrobes for adults.

Our 3/4 board pampering package includes:

• An extensive breakfast with fresh fruit, jams, eggs, oven-warm rolls, alpine cheese, sausages, muesli and freshly squeezed juices.
• A lunch and afternoon buffet with salads, soup of the day, homemade cakes and ice cream.
• An evening meal of a lovingly prepared five-course menu, including a varied salad buffet.

We serve traditional South Tyrolean cuisine with a modern twist, alongside weekly culinary highlights. Look forward to themed evenings, gala dinners and buffet evenings with show cooking, not to mention a large dessert buffet. Once a week, enjoy special events such as a strudel buffet, a sparkling wine breakfast or a barbecue party.

Yes, on request we prepare tasty dishes for vegetarians and guests with allergies or food intolerances. Alternatively, you can choose from a small à la carte menu at any time.

Yes, we place great value on regional and seasonal products. Many ingredients come directly from the Wipptal valley and local farms. This way, you can enjoy not only fresh, high-quality dishes, but also the authentic taste of South Tyrol.

Our hotel has a 4,500 m² wellness area with three steam baths, a Finnish sauna, an outdoor sauna and several relaxation rooms. There are four whirlpools available for relaxation: one indoors and two outdoors (one of which is saltwater), as well as another in the outdoor sauna area.

The wellness facilities are complemented by an indoor swimming pool and two heated outdoor pools. The 25-metre infinity pool, which offers a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains, is open from around April to November.

Children of all ages are permitted in the pool area when accompanied by an adult. The sauna area is reserved for guests aged 16 and over.

You can find massages and beauty treatments in the relevant section of our website. Appointments can also be booked in advance daily after 19:00 o’clock by telephone.

There are numerous alpine pasture hikes and mountain tours that start directly from the hotel.

Another starting point for many breathtaking hikes is at the mining museum in Maiern, which is easily accessible by public bus or your own car.

Our weekly program includes five guided hikes per week – from leisurely valley walks to more challenging day trips, such as to the seven lakes.

Hiking poles can be rented directly from the hotel for a deposit. E-bikes are available at a special price from a rental shop approximately 2 km away. Please register at least one day in advance.

The Ratschings-Jaufen ski area, located near Sterzing, is approximately 14 kilometers from the hotel in Ridnaun. It can be easily accessed in around 20 minutes via the complimentary ski bus service.

Yes, the free ski bus to Ratschings-Jaufen stops just 150 meters from the hotel in Ridnaun and runs three times a day.

A freely accessible ski and ski boot storage room with heated ski boot dryers is available to all guests in the basement.

Ridnaun boasts numerous well-groomed winter hiking trails and a 25 km cross-country ski trail, which is included in the local tourist tax. The trailhead is only 150 meters from the hotel. We also offer free weekly courses in classic and skating cross-country skiing, as well as biathlon.

There is a small, family-friendly toboggan run right next to the hotel, and another one on the way to the alm hut “Stadlalm”. The nearby Ratschings-Jaufen and Rosskopf ski areas also offer perfectly groomed toboggan runs, some of which are illuminated, that are ideal for both families and more experienced tobogganers.

Snowshoe hikes are also possible, and you can rent snowshoes at reception free of charge. The hotel also has its own curling rink, which is available to guests free of charge. Curling sticks and all the necessary equipment can be hired directly from the hotel, ensuring fun for all the family.

Although we are not a specialized children's hotel, we warmly welcome guests of all ages to our wellness and activity hotel in Ridnaun.

 Some of our suites have pull-out sofa beds. Where room size allows, we can provide extra beds. We can also provide cots. Our holiday apartments are ideal for families and offer plenty of space for a relaxing holiday.

We have a small outdoor playground on site for our younger guests, and a large public playground is located just 200 meters from the hotel. There is also a large games room in the basement with a ball pit and a variety of games, including table tennis and table football.

We charge a one-time final cleaning fee for dogs.

Dogs are allowed in the hotel. Dogs are not allowed in the wellness area and dining rooms, or only to a very limited extent.

If you are staying with us for one week or more, we will be happy to pick you up from the Sterzing-Pfitsch train station or the Sterzing FlixBus stop free of charge. With the Active Card, you can travel by train from Brenner free of charge on the day of your arrival.
